Announcement and Giveaway: there are no cats in America!

An American Tail was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I kept singing "There are no cats in America" for a few months after I saw it. Just love it! The song is a promise that all your troubles will be solved and life will be perfect in America! This is the spirit with which I am moving to the US and running a giveaway!

Updating the stash #2: new Makeup Geek eyeshadow swatches

It is no secret that Makeup Geek is my favorite eyeshadow brand, si it will come as now shock that there is another update post. Beauty Bay had a big sale some time ago and I picked up some more shadows on the way. I was initially quite weary of the foiled eyeshadows because of the rumors that they creased, but I finally was won over by the incredible pigmentation and color payoff so I have quite a few of them here. As usual I will give the official description and a mini review for every shade. If you want to see all my other Makeup geek eyeshadows, check out the previous posts here and here.

Take out the Trash #8: June – July 2016 empties

Welcome back to another episode of Take out the Trash, aka where I share with you my beauty empties. I have been working super hard to finish up products in the past months, since in 3 weeks I'm moving to the US and I have a huge stash of beauty products that cannot come with me, especially skincare. Let's take a look.

New Kiko primers: first impressions GRWM Video

Welcome to a new type of post! I have ventured into making YouTube videos and this is the first one in which I am actually speaking to the camera! Oh my was that weird! I apologize if I'm doing it all wrong, I would love your feedback on the video!

Let's get to the content though! Kiko Milano released a whole new line of re-formulated primers and I was conveniently out of primers, so I jumped at the opportunity to try them out. I picked up the Matte Face Base, the Neutral Eye Base and the Nude Blur Lip Base and decided to try them out in a first impressions get ready with me video on my YouTube Channel. Check out the video below and subscribe to the Channel if you want to see more videos!

The Color Analysis Wars Part 1: introduction and ambivalent reds

Welcome to the first of The Color Analysis Wars! In this series in collaboration with Fran from Being Cute is not a Crime, we will explore some principles of Colour Analysis by comparing lipsticks on ourselves. If your are new to the concept of Seasonal Color Analysis, I will add here a piece written by Rachel at Truth is Beauty:

Start by understanding that every part of your natural coloring is in harmony with every other part.
Your eyes, skin and true hair color all complement each other perfectly, exactly as they are.
To look your most beautiful, you don't need to color your hair. You don't need to wear expensive makeup or expensive clothes.
You only need to identify the palette of colors that harmonizes perfectly with the colors that are already in you.
The natural palette of your body harmonizes with one of 12 palettes that differ in
warmthchroma (brightness), and value (lightness). We call these different palettes seasons.

Makeup Stash: Nabla Blossom Blush and Shade & Glow swatches and review

Welcome back! Ok, maybe I should welcome myself back to the blog. It is a really busy time, with work, the gym, makeup, calligraphy, personal life all trying to compete in a 24 hour day. Somehow the blog has been suffering for it and I apologize for it. Anyhow, I'm back for another makeup stash post and today we're talking about the Blossom Blush and Shade and Glow lines the Nabla Cosmetics released this summer. The addition of six blushes, three contour and three highlight powders to their makeup line was a big extension that got everyone very excited. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Nabla Cosmetics makes some of my favorite eyeshadows (review and swatches here). Let's take a look at these beauties.

June 2016 Most Played and Favorites

Happy July everyone!
We're officially into summer, even though we haven't really noticed it here. Anyway, it is time for June monthly favorites and Most Played products. This month I have been discovering color analysis thanks to the lovely ladies at Rossetto e Merletto. I have been analyzed as Deep Autumn and have put an effort to try makeup looks that fit my season's colors and I even purchased a few bits that have quickly become obsessions. To see some of the looks, I post my makeup of the day on Facebook and Instagram almost every day.
